Thief release date revealed

16 August 2013

Eidos Montreal and Square Enix have announced that the long-awaited Thief reboot will arrive on store shelves on 28 February 2014 for Xbox 360, Xbox One, PS3, PS4 and PC.

In addition to the fact that series hero Garrett will return, there are a bunch of new features in the upcoming sneak-‘em-up, such as the increased importance of light and shadows, highly-intelligent AI, and the ability to upgrade Garrett’s weapons and items.

To the joy of mouse-and-keyboard fans, Eidos Montreal previously said that the PC version of Thief is “extremely important” for the franchise.

“Just playing Thief with a keyboard and mouse is different so we must make sure we support that well. For making the PC version we think like a PC gamer, for consoles it’s a different type of beast. It’s one of our goals to make sure that the PC version isn’t just a copy of the console version,” said game producer Stefan Roy.
