Can you transfer single-player progress from current to next-gen?

Call of Duty Ghosts

With the news that gamers will have the opportunity to upgrade from a current-gen game to the same game on next-gen for a small fee, there are however restrictions on what it will allow players to do, such as port your single-player progress.

Activision, EA, and Ubisoft representatives have all confirmed that single-player progress of games won’t be carried over into the next-gen version.

For example, if you are half way through Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag on PS3, and upgrade to the PS4 version, you’ll have to start the single-player campaign again.

The plus however, is that multiplayer progress in Battlefield 4 and Call of Duty: Ghosts will carry over.

Another Ubisoft rep was unable to confirm whether Watch Dogs will be able to feature cross-generational save transfers, but it’s unlikely following the earlier statements.
