A mother has been charged with abuse and neglect after the drowning death of her child, with the neglect said to be due to playing video games.

22-year old Tennessee resident Samantha Brymer-Armstrong was reportedly playing video games in the back bedroom and was wearing headphones when her three-year old daughter fell into the swimming pool and drowned.

Police say Brymer-Armstrong told investigators that Kayleigh was left unattended for more than an hour during her time playing games.

This isn’t the first time this year that someone has died after a gamer has neglected a loved one, as a Taiwanese man was sentenced to 12 years in prison after letting his sick mother starve to death while he played on his PC.

I do think maybe she doesn’t deserve to be actually arrested though. She’s lost her daughter in a tragic accident and I doubt it was intentional, sure she wasn’t watching over her kid but if you tell me every parent watches their kid 24/7 I won’t believe you. This said with the knowledge in this article though, for all I know she could have abused the kid for a lot longer.
