Humble Indie Bundle raises US$1 million, extends deal

13 May 2010

After having launched last week, the Humble Indie Bumble sales promotion has reported massive success. It’s been so successful in fact, that the deal has been extended for the next two days. The sale is a pay-what-you-want promotion that allows the buyer to specify which percentage of their contribution goes to charity or the developers.

If that isn’t enough, Amanita Design (the developers behind Machinarium) have added Samarost 2 to the bundle, on top of the original offer of World of Goo, Aquaria, Gish, Lugaru HD and Penumbra Overture.

Proving  that indie developers have the gaming community at heart, Aquaria, Gish, Lugaru HD and Penumbra Overture will all be released as open source code for those who wish to learn from and fiddle with these great titles.

So far, the sales drive has raised nearly US$1.2million from 129 000 contributors. 30.90% of this money has gone to charity, and the rest to the developers.
If you feel like earning some karmic brownie points or just want to pick up 6 totally awesome indie games, be sure to capitalise on this deal.
