2 weeks left of StarCraft II beta

17 May 2010

Blizzard has announced that it will be shutting down the StarCraft II beta on May 31. This means that the multiplayer component which players have been beta testing for the past few weeks will no longer be playable.

Blizzard will then make some changes to the “hardware and software configurations,” before kicking off a second beta.

Blizzard plans to “bring the beta test back online for a couple of weeks prior to the game’s launch to complete our testing.”

It is currently unclear whether current beta players will be given access to the second beta by default, or if Blizzard will send out brand new beta keys.

StarCraft II is still scheduled for release on July 27.
