Rockstar Games has hinted at “substantial additions” coming for the single-player component of GTA 5 in 2014, continuing the story of Michael, Franklin, and Trevor.
However, before that arrives, players can expect new content for the GTA Online multiplayer component of the game.
This week Rockstar will launch the Deathmatch and Race Creators tool in beta form, allowing players to customise jobs for the modes: Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch, Race, GTA Race, Rally Race.
Rockstar will then review the best community-created jobs and feature them as Rockstar Verified Jobs.
Although free for owners of GTA 5, the multiplayer stuff requires a Rockstar Social Club account linked to an Xbox Live Gamertag or PlayStation Network ID.

Craft your most challenging and intense GTA Online Races – in the streets, skies and waterways of Los Santos & Blaine County. Then share with the community to see who can best your bespoke Race.
Sometime in December, Rockstar plans to launch the competitive team mode, Capture – a twist on the familiar capture the flag game type. Capture comes in four types: Raid; Contend; Hold; and GTA.
Up to four squads will fight over items such as contraband, trucks, buses, making use of everything the GTA 5 world has to offer to achieve the goal.

Lift the goods from your rivals, then make a clean break for your home base in the all new free Capture mode and Jobs update coming this month to GTA Online.
Moving into the 2014 we can expect perhaps the most anticipated element of GTA Online – co-operative heists.
“Heists are currently in development and we are working very hard to get them as polished and as fun as they can be. Stay tuned for much more detail in the New Year,” Rockstar posted on their Newswire.

The hunter and the hunted – the entire open world is your battleground as you war against enemy teams for coveted contraband in Capture mode.

This is absolutely epic news! I wonder – have you guys tried the online component yet? I loved the campaign and the multiplayer side is something I’m keen to get into but I don’t have an XBL sub and I don’t want to pony up for it if the experience with lag etc from SA is going to make it a waste.
