2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil launch date announced

7 February 2014

No surprise here – EA Sports has announced their latest tournament edition of the FIFA game to coincide with the football World Cup in Brasil.

While the real deal will kick off in June, the 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil will hit South African shelves on 18 April 2014 for the PS3 and Xbox 360. Looks like PC and next-gen console gamers didn’t qualify for this round.

Players will be able to choose from 203 national teams, 7,469 players, 19 officially licensed managers, and 21 new stadiums including all 12 authentic stadiums from Brazil.

Crowd scenes have be reworked with banners, flags, and seat cards in the stadium, and from Live City events recorded across the globe. So, when you score a goal with England you’ll see fans react “live” from the centre of London.

EA claims that 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil features “multiple innovations and improvements” to the gameplay of FIFA 14.

From the ability to accelerate, decelerate, and change direction quickly on and off the ball with Explosive Movement, to the new World Class Control feature that uses Response Dribbling and Pinpoint Passing, fans will feel the athleticism and skill of their national football heroes. And one hundred new animations, including passing, saves, and penalty kicks, help play on the pitch explode with the drama and unpredictably of the official tournament.

The sub-heading of this article reminded me of this incredibly annoying friend of mine on FB. He ends EVERY. SINGLE. COMMENT with ‘laters, sports fans’. *facepalm*
