Razer rides with Koenigsegg on Blade limited edition

26 February 2014

Razer has teamed up with Swedish supercar manufacturer Koenigsegg to produce a series of not-for-sale Koenigsegg limited edition Razer Blade 14-inch gaming laptops.

The Koenigsegg Razer Blade will be unveiled at the Geneva International Motor Show in March 2014.

“Both Razer and Koenigsegg see this collaboration as a first step in a long relationship from which more exciting products can be born and brought to market through the collaboration,” reads the press blurb.

I’m not sure that the marketing mashup makes any sense, but whatever – the Blade gets some new aesthetics and you stand a chance to win one of two by entering on the Razer website.

Although the Razer Store does not ship to South Africa, Razer EU PR representative André Ruff confirmed that the competition “should still be available in SA.” Indeed, South Africa is on the drop-down list on the entry form.

“I’m not sure that the marketing mashup makes any sense”

Basically the supercar fans out there who got the dough will be willing to cough it up to have a shiny koenigsegg logo on their razer blade laptops. More bragging rights than anything else. I mean cmon, when you show up at a meeting or something and whip out that laptop with that logo, people will have no choice but to respect you.
