Creative director and writer of the Uncharted series, Amy Hennig, has left Naughty Dog – a move which Sony says will not impact on the development of Uncharted for the PS4.

According to online reports, Henning’s last day at the office was on Monday after she was “forced out” by colleagues, Neil Druckmann and Bruce Straley, who are said to be taking over control of the next Uncharted title.

“Amy has made significant contributions to the game industry and we appreciate all she has done for Naughty Dog,” a Sony representative told IGN.

In November last year, Naughty Dog confirmed released a teaser trailer for the next chapter in the Uncharted series, coming to PS4.

While lacking detail, the trailer hints at a journey to the African continent, with a particular focus on the Isle of Saint Mary, off the coast of Madagascar.

The island was rumoured to be home to a “utopian pirate republic” known as Libertalia, with the motto “for God and liberty” – words which make a clear appearance in the video, alongside the skull and crossbones synonymous with piracy.
