Dark Souls blamed for satanic cult murders

5 March 2014

A Fox News interview doing the internet rounds is blaming Dark Souls, in part, for cult murders.

The interview in question shows Fox News legal analyst Peter Johnson Jr. speaking about “Craigslist killer” Miranda Barbour’s affinity for the “very dark, death-laden video game”.

Barbour confessed to over 20 murders and being part of a Satanic cult, and the From Software game is listed as one of the contributing factors to her troubled life.

MyGaming Forum members posted the video last month where it was discussed, but it seems its popularity – or rather, infamy – is only starting to gain traction now.

Below is a snippet of the interview.

Could video game violence be to blame, or is this just another dig at the industry by those who know little about it? Let us know in the comments.
