The Simpsons’ intro sequence couch gag is a veritable cultural phenomenon, much like the astoundingly successful little sandbox game Minecraft.

And so, The Simpsons creators paid homage to game in the latest episode (broadcast on 6 April 2014) with a Minecraft inspired couch gag.

Minecraft creator, Markus “Notch” Persson found out about it via Twitter, and expressed his surprise:

The Simpsons did a Minecraft couch gag. I’m not sure how I feel about it.

I STILL feel a bit like it’s just this small game I made at home. It’s so weird to have all these things happen.

Catch this recording of the couch gag below before the Fox sharks catch wind of it and ruin everyone’s fun.
