Do you need a few basic accessories for your PS4, but don’t know what’s available or how much they cost? We have you covered.
The PS4 has been out for a few months now, and although its accessory list is growing at a slow pace, there are some must-have items on the market. Here is what is available in SA at the moment.
Vertical Stand
I highly recommend this item – the PS4 just looks better standing up. Whether this is because Sony brainwashed me to believe that, or I truly feel it looks better that way is irrelevant, I can’t see my PS4 laying down. Just clip your PS4 in at the base and you are good to go.

Dual Controller Charging Dock
Do you have two controllers and want them to look awesome while they charge – then the Dual Controller Dock is for you. It is self-descriptive product, it charges two controls simultaneously while they are held in a small dock.
Official Dock – R389.00
ORB Dock – R305.00
Big-Ben Dual Dock – R308.00
Carry Bag
If you carry your PS4 around a lot then you need a bag, you wouldn’t want that beautiful console to break now, would you?
Big Ben Carry Bag – R527.32
Camera Stand
If you’re like me and got the PS4 Mega Bundle at launch, you were also surprised at the fact that the PlayStation Camera was just shoved in the box with no stand. Thankfully, a stand is available to make sure your camera is always perfectly balanced (and always catches your good side).

Thumbs Grips
We all know how the DualShock 4’s analogue grips deteriorate with excessive use, either from pictures posted on the web or our own controls breaking down. These grips promise that those days are over, and if you love your controller and don’t want to see it fall apart then this is a must have.
ORB Thumb Grips – R90.00
Wireless Stereo Headset 2.0
Sony’s PlayStation Headset has had a makeover, and is now titled version 2.0. Boasting 7.1 virtual surround sound, noise cancelling technology, and changeable faceplates, it is quite the audio package, plus it allows you download developer’s custom sound settings, each designed to suite their specific game.
Option B is the Gioteck, which comes bundled with either Need for Speed Rivals or Battlefield 4. This headset does not have all the bells and whistles like the Sony, but heck, you get a free game. Or am I paying for the game and getting a free headset? Hmmm.
Official Headset – R1299.00
Gioteck AX1 Headset – R849.00
