Desktop Dungeons updated to v0.14

17 June 2010

Desktop Dungeons has been receiving quite a bit of praise and attention within indie circles since its release earlier this year. The game is a creation from local indie development regular, Rodain Joubert, and it seems he hit the nail on the head with this addictive little gem.

The update brings a nice new interface and a more reader friendly font. The inclusion of a tutorial mode will welcome new players. There is also an unlockable campaign – The Siege of Lothlorien. The religion system has also received a major overhaul – players can now earn piety points by completing religion specific tasks. The piety points can then be used to purchase upgrades.

Fellow indie developer Derek Yu (I’m O.K – A Murder Simulator, Spelunky) was kind enough to create some pixel art tilesets for the game, which have now been officially included, bringing an extra sprinkling of pizzazz to the whole experience. If you haven’t dived into the Desktop Dungeons yet, then what are you waiting for? Be prepared for some addictive gameplay.
