Interplay has finally come out with it and formally announced its Fallout MMO, admitting that it is the same project as that was previously referred to as “Project: V13”.
This follows a painfully drawn out legal dispute between Interplay and Bethesda over the intellectual rights to the Fallout MMO. Apparently, although Interplay sold Bethesda the rights to Fallout back in 2007, they retained the rights to a Fallout MMO on the condition that Bethesda receive loyalties, and that Interplay get started on the project no later than 2009, and with a budget of at least $30 million.
It seems that all has been resolved now though, and the Fallout MMO is already nearing beta. You can sign up here.
