The Division will only be available in 2015, Ubisoft announced following the releases of its 2014 financial results.
The game was scheduled to be released for the Xbox One, PS4, and PC in 2014, but the company’s desire not to “compromise on quality” will not see the game release this year.
“Working on The Division is a once in a lifetime opportunity for all of us at Massive, Reflections, and Red Storm Entertainment. We are creating something we are really proud of. We are going to release the game when it’s ready,” read a post on the game’s website.
“We want to thank you again for the exceptional ongoing support. Community is at the heart of what we are doing and we’re very much designing the game with you in mind, so your involvement means a lot to us.”
The Division – a third-person action MMO – takes place in New York three weeks after a lethal virus has wreaked havoc on the city. Players have to scavenge and fight for their lives in order to survive the now derelict wasteland.
