So, E3’s all packed up and Nic’s not gloating about LA over Google Talk anymore. I hope he suffers with post-flight vertigo for three weeks, but in the meantime, let’s see what went down over at the expo.
Project Natal sucks
Mostly true – the inevitably dreary pageant of stupid Wii shovelware clones didn’t do much for the peripheral’s credibility, although Ubisoft’s YourShape: Fitness Evolved and Harmonix’s Dance Central were kinda impressive. Well, if jogging / dancing on the spot is your sort of thing. Which, let’s admit it, will be the moment there’s a bottle of cheap Scotch and a betting pool involved.
PlayStation Move looks like a Wiimote, behaves like a Wiimote
True. PlayStation Move looks like a Wiimote with a ball glued to the end. But Resident Evil 5 is getting a patch to support it, so it’s not a complete disaster. Because, you know, Resident Evil 4 on the Wii was awesome. And the PlayStation Move looks like a Wiimote with a ball glued to the end. But look at me talking in circles.
Peter Molyneux is enthusiastic, a bit creepy
Only about a quarter true, unfortunately. He was somewhat enthusiastic, maybe, but totally not creepy at all. What a disappointment. I can only assume he’d been surreptitiously sedated by his handlers before taking the stage.

True! After controversially shunning the platform since launch, Valve announces they’re bringing Portal 2 to the PS3, and with Sony allowing Steamworks integration on the console, it’s apparently going to be the better of the two console versions. AND AFTER SUCH LOYAL, LOVING SUPPORT FROM XBOX GAMERS, OMG. And obviously Sony paid Valve loads and loads of cash to do it. Ready, set, fanboy war.
