Mafia II PC will use Steamworks, digital pre-order Deluxe Edition revealed

Valve has announced that the PC version of Mafia II will come packed with their built in publishing suite, Steamworks. This just means that it will be a fully Steam integrated game, and will use Steam for updates, DLC, achievements, statistics etc. It also means that you will have to have Steam to play the game, even if you buy the boxed version.  

The exclusive Steam Deluxe Edition is priced at $59 (R440) through Steam, and includes the following:

– Made Man Pack: Free access to in-game downloadable pack that lets you get behind the wheel of two different luxury automobiles. In addition, Vito will look the part with two new “made man” suits, including a vintage tux.

– Digital Art Book: Players get to know Empire Bay with a photo album-style Digital Art Book that takes fans through the artistic design process of the game.

– Orchestral Soundtrack: Immerse yourself in a symphonic masterpiece with the Mafia II score recorded by the Prague FILMHarmonic Orchestra.

– Digital Map of Empire Bay: Get familiar with the neighborhoods and own the streets with the Digital Map depicting the 10 square miles of Empire Bay and all the hangout spots.

The regular version is priced at R375, and if you pre-order it now you can download and play the first Mafia for free. 

Mafia II will be out on PC, PS3 and Xbox 360 on August 27.
