Heroes of Newerth free-to-play week

3 August 2010

S2 Games, creators of Heroes of Newerth, a game inspired by the incredibly popular WarCraft III custom map Defense of the Ancients, have announced an entire week of free play for those who have not purchased an account. A week is probably all you’ll need to get addicted to this highly polished and competitive game.

The free-to-play week comes shortly after the official release of another new hero, Doctor Repulsor. The Doctor is a ranged intelligence hero. Using his skills with electro-magnetic forces, he damages, slows, traps and speeds towards enemies.

The Free-to-play week runs until Monday, 9 August, 20:00 in South Africa (GMT+2), providing ample time and a whole weekend for players to sample HoN. Those who haven’t played since the open beta may be pleasantly surprised by the improvements and new heroes released since. Those new to the game will have to expect initiation by fire, but it’s all worth it when the kills start to add up.

Interested gamers can head over to the HoN website to register an account. The Heroes of Newerth client download page can also be found on the same site – expect to use around 387MB downloading the client install.
