Heroes of Might & Magic VI announced

18 August 2010

Ubisoft has announced the sixth iteration of the stalwart PC franchise, Heroes of Might & Magic. The classic turn based strategy, which featured heavy exploration and RPG components was never  a main stream hit, but enjoyed a fervent fan base.

Being a huge fan, particularly of Heroes of Might & Magic III, I was a little disappointed with the last game which failed to capture the feel of the earlier titles. It will be interesting to see if they can succeed with VI where V failed.

“Might & Magic is a powerful franchise with an amazing 20-year legacy,” said Caroline Stevens, brand director at Ubisoft EMEA.

“Players will be able to enjoy the Heroes experience like never before. The amazing creative teams at Black Hole are keeping the original Heroes spirit, while enhancing the RPG elements of the game.”

Heroes of Might & Magic VI will begin 400 years after the last game, and Black Hole Entertainment (Warhammer: Mark of Chaos) is developing the game.
