Bad Company 2 VIP map pack 6 released

19 August 2010

EA and DICE has made available the sixth VIP Map Pack for Battlefield: Bad Company 2. The map pack is freely available to all PC version owners, and requires ‘VIP’ status on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 which is included with new purchases of the game. If you purchased Bad Company 2 second hand for these consoles, you will have to purchase the VIP status in order to have access to this and previous map packs.

Map pack 6 doesn’t actually add any new maps, but does add two new modes to existing maps. Squad Deathmatch will be available on the Panama Canal map, and Squad Rush will be available on Laguna Presa. A video showing off these two new modes on their respective maps has been released.

Whilst the two new modes on existing maps will undoubtedly be well received by fans, it is still a disappointment that no new maps will be making their way into the original title.

Fans will have to wait until the Bad Company 2: Vietnam expansion pack is released later this year, which will feature four new levels on which to enjoy the various game modes, as well as a selection of new air and ground vehicles.
