HTC – makers of the Vive VR headset – said it wants to bring the Half-Life series to the world of virtual reality.
In an interview with the BBC, the company said: “We are cooperating with Half-Life, and I think… I hope, you know, it will be on it,” with regards to its Vive headset.
If it’s anything like the VR mod we wrote about a few months ago, sign me up as a tester for the game.
Also, it will be nice for Valve to be forced to make some inroads towards a “new” Half-Life title, as it has been a while since Half-Life 2 wowed gamers around the world.
Of course there is already Oculus Rift VR support for Half-Life 2, but Valve’s direct relationship with HTC on the Vive may see something special produced.
And as one of MyGaming’s readers pointed out: HTC is 3 letters – Half-Life 3 confirmed.
A video of the aforementioned VR mod is embedded below.

This is what’s actually literally killing gaming
You know when Half life 2 appeared it blew everyone out of the water because it was so revolutionary. But other games have caught up and even overtaken it, and I have often questioned whether HL3 would be able to achieve that level of shock and awe… Up until now. Reading the article I suddenly realise why they waited so long. Valve has had their own VR headset for a long time- we know this already, and I submit have been doing things with VR and HL3 that will once again blow the current level of immersion out the water. I would wager everything on the fact that we are getting a HL3 announcement before Vive is released commercially, and once again HL3 is going to ratchet the bar up 10 notches
