Here we go again!!!!!!!!! Here’s a fact, ALL consoles have fixed hardware from the day they are conceived, manufactured and sold. So their performance is only applicable for as long as that technology is current (a few months in the world of ever advancing technologies). So overall programming technique works on the stagnant technology, and very little advancement happens, other than pushing the performace to the max this tech can handle.
One can buy a complete PC with specs exceeding a console (which still needs a screen and extra controllers to be purchased, so again more expensive than a PC), for less than the price of the latest consoles, and if purchased smartly, can be upgraded to basically piss all over anything that is a console.
So to amortise the hardware over years, the PC gives a lasting upgrade path to play all of the latest eyecandy, while the console players need to wait for the next new iteration of their console. Basically a total lock-in, and then never mind the price of console games over PC games of the same title.
