When logging into Halo: The Master Chief Collection again, you will probably be prompted to download a new content patch, a patch that aims to fix a few bugs as well as matchmaking issues, fantastic. This news comes from a post on Halowaypoint.com, but that is not the exciting news we want to share with you.
Following the patch update, it was also revealed that the much promised Halo 3: ODST will be added to The Master Chief Collection next month, and to make it even more exciting, it will be free for those who bought the game either online or retail between November 11th and December 19th, 2014.
This is to apologize for all of the terrible launch issues that plagued the release back in November 2014. Even after a 20GB day-one patch, the issues still persisted and caused a worldwide outcry. We saw back in February that Microsoft gave players one free month of Xbox Gold membership to make up for the launch issues, so this is more than enough to make us happy, right?
So there you have it, a free game for some and a new Halo game for others to get into.
