Windosill – play game
Windosill is an interactive busy-box puzzler that will have you exploring every nook and cranny of the game’s world like an inquisitive child, and then scratching your head whilst trying to solve the surreal puzzles. Players must move a little wooden car from screen to screen, solving puzzles along the way. The game makes impressive use of Flash animation. The first half of the game is free, and the second half can be accessed online and through download for US$3 (±R21).
Today I Die – play game
Today I Die is an interactive poem about a girl who attempts suicide (although this is probably open to interpretation – part of the beauty of the game). Through interacting with her environment and the structure of the accompanying poem, you might just be able to change her destiny. It’s short yet intriguing.
Small Worlds – play game
Small Worlds is a platformer in which players must explore a maze-like level. As the player uncovers more of the game world, the camera zooms out, and eventually reveals the entirety of the world explored, which is often a pixel art masterpiece in its own right. A relaxing coffee break game.
Haiku Hero – play game
If you feel like a cerebral workout, Haiku Hero is for you. Haiku’s are Japanese poems that follow a particular structure – 3 lines long, the first containing five syllables, the second seven, and the third five. For bonus points players can drop in a specified word. Players can set the game to be challenging with time limits, or a relaxing creative experience. A simple concept, might take a while to perfect, go be a hero.
