Antec’s ridiculously customizable “LanBoy Air” case

29 September 2010

Peripheral manufacturer Antec has released what has to be one of the most interesting gaming cases we have ever seen. At first glance the LanBoy Air resembles a regular gaming chassis, but upon closer inspection you can see that there are no solid walls, and the enclosure is instead made up of mesh panels.

The best part, however, is that the case is completely reconfigurable. Antec claims that there are over 34,000 unique configurations, and users are given countless options for things like motherboard, PSU and driver bay placements.

The default design ships with 5 120mm fans, but if you want the ultimate air cooling solution, you can install up to 10 additional fans.

The LanBoy Air will retail for $219.95 (R1500) in the US. Although there is no sign of these bad boys in SA yet, given Antec’s relatively solid local footprint, we can expect to start seeing them in the next few months.
