Nintendo’s NX is less powerful than the PS4

Nintendo Wii U - Nintendo NX

Nintendo’s next console, codenamed “NX”, is supposed to amend many of the mistakes made in developing the Wii U.

In spite of the large community established by the Wii’s massive sales, and boy did it sell, and for as enjoyable as some of the Wii U’s games are, Nintendo is struggling to make the Wii U work in a number of markets – virtually all of them in fact.

It only makes sense then for Nintendo not to completely jump the shark in the development of the NX and listen to the feedback of the community and developers alike.

As one of the leading complaints by all parties involved is the lacking performance of the Nintendo Wii U, you’d imagine that the NX will bring Nintendo back into line with other consoles.

In fact, releasing multiple years after the Xbox One and PS4, Nintendo should have no problem developing a console that matches, if not outright beats, the PS4.

Well according to a tweet by Liam Robertson of Unseen64, a site concerned with the preservation of unreleased or otherwise cancelled video gaming projects, Nintendo is not looking to compete with the power of the PS4.

For a console that is supposed to regain the attention of 3rd party developers, Nintendo is taking a very odd route. This is going to make the NX a bit of a pain to port to, particularly if it’s behind the Xbox One performance wise.

Here’s hoping that Nintendo at the very least brings something worthwhile to the table, or a lack of performance may well hurt them more than the Wii U’s unpopularity has.

An open world Pokemon game on the scale & quality of The Witcher 3 et al, and a Zelda game in a similar vein (like the one they showed last year but even better). They just need to do that and people will flock to Nintendo! I must be delusional because it seems so simple to me,
