Sombrerosplay game

Sombreros

Sombreros is a rather difficult vertically scrolling shmup set somewhere in lawless Mexico. You’re the new sheriff in town and it appears that chaos has beset the community – the entire sombrero supply has been pilfered!

Armed with your trusty six shooter, expect lots of strafing as you dispatch the outlaws. For extra or’nery situations, there’s ‘Ojos Rojos’ mode which allows players to mark up to six targets for lightning quick-draw death.

Road of the Deadplay game

Road of the Dead

Intense orchestral soundtrack, a sweet muscle car, and plenty of zombies to squish – gaming nirvana, or something close to it. Zombie apocalypse has once again befallen mankind, and survival is the primary objective for our protagonist. You start with a vanilla flavoured muscle car and try to make your escape along the city’s chaotic highway, smashing through zombies and making distance will earn upgrade points before you are inevitably brought to a fiery end. Upgrading the car means you’ll make it further next time. Who knows, you might even survive the ordeal…

Leap 4 Blue play game

Leap 4 Blue

Leap 4 Blue is a puzzle platformer in which players must build their own platforms in order to reach the end of each level. There are collectibles along the way to encourage some creative platform building. The platforms created will disappear after a few seconds, so things can become frantic in the later more difficult stages. Once you get past the opening levels which explain the core concepts, things get quite addictive.

Siamese Enemiesplay game

Siamese Enemies

Yet another reason to love indie developers; sometimes they make outlandishly fantastic games. Siamese Enemies is a prime example – a two player only game that pits Siamese twins against each other in a race to be their mother’s favourite (she didn’t ask for two babies!). The twins must race to the hospital, collecting organs along the way. Of course being attached means that players are wrestling for control. Organs will bounce around the screen, adding a random element to the tug-o-war of collecting. Once arriving at the hospital, players have to perform surgery on their respective twins. The organs and quality of the surgery affect movement as players race back towards their mother’s waiting arms.
