Kids reacting to Tamagotchi makes us feel old

Kids react to Tamagotchi

Nostalgia is clearly a relative of ignorance because it too harbours and promotes bliss where there really shouldn’t be any, and Tamagotchi is a perfect example of that.

Weirdly, we’ve got nothing but fond memories of Tamagotchi, even if all it did was wake us up, get us in trouble at school and generally just eat a lot of time as we cleaned up virtual poop.

A virtual pet it may have been, it offered almost nothing you look to from an actual pet, like companionship, friendship or love (anthropomorphised or not) – it’s only response was to die.

But watching kids react to Tamagotchi still makes us feel so old.

There’s no way around it; gaming and toys have come a long way since.

At the very least a good portion of the kids in this particular reaction video seemed to enjoy the Tamagotchi in much the same we did way back when, so we’re not crazy.

They, like us, had the same request, “Stop beeping!”
