Still holding out on that Xbox LIVE Gold subscription for some reason, while all the cool kids play Halo: Reach? NOW YOU CAN TOO. From 25-29 November, the marketing people over at Xbox HQ are hosting a free-for-all party, with Silvers going Gold for five days. It’s kinda like alchemy or something, but with more pew-pew and teabagging.
According to Xbox LIVE boss guy Major Nelson:
“Not an Xbox LIVE Gold member? We’re running a special promotion that may interest you: From November 25 (12:00 pm ET / 9:00 am PT) through November 29 (12:00 pm ET / 9:00 am PT). Gold-only features will be available to all members for FREE: HD movie streaming from Netflix. Check out Facebook and Twitter or play the latest multiplayer games online such as Halo: Reach, Call of Duty: Black Ops and Kinect Adventures, tune in to ESPN on Xbox LIVE for big games and more.”
Of course, if you’re signing into the South African Xbox LIVE service, you can scratch Netflix, Facebook, Twitter, and ESPN off that list.
Editorial update:
Major Nelson has just announced another Xbox LIVE Gold promo – stragiht from the Major’s mouth:
“If you spend 1600 points on select Microsoft Game Studio content, you’ll get 400 points back. This promotion is available to all Xbox LIVE members except those in Japan or Italy. Xbox.com has the complete list of eligible content and how to get in on the deal. The offer November 22, 2010.”
