The annual Spike TV Video Game Awards are coming up on 12 December 2010, and a teaser ad has been out for several days now. Obsessive compulsive nerds have, of course, been skipping through the ad frame by frame since it launched, and something interesting turns up at the 20 second mark.
It’s a poster reading “INFECTED? REPORT IT!” with a couple of silhouettes that, to the trained, expert gamer eye, could only be zombies. Or, you know, “infected” people. So, it’s probably Left 4 Dead… something.
Is it another DLC expansion for Left 4 Dead 2? Is it Left 4 Dead 3? Or – since Sony’s been making noises about a big exclusive reveal on the night – could this possibly be the long-rumoured Left 4 Dead for PS3 announcement?
Back in 2008, Valve’s Doug Lombardi stated that “There is no PS3 version of Left 4 Dead currently in production”. But that was before Valve decided that, actually, the PS3 is cool and stuff, and made friends with it.
