The PlayStation 4.5 – a more powerful version of the PlayStation 4 which Sony has reportedly been working on – is set to be announced before the release of PlayStation VR, Eurogamer reports.
The Wall Street Journal reported that the latest iteration of Sony’s console will be revealed before the launch of the PlayStation VR, which is due in October.
A more powerful version of the PlayStation 4 will allow consumers to have a greater experience with both PlayStation VR and upcoming games.
The PlayStation 4.5 will feature the capacity to output high definition graphics in order to cope with the increased processing demands of virtual reality gaming.
The report states that the PlayStation 4.5 (also referred to as the PS4K) and the PlayStation 4 will both share the same game catalogue.
