Super Meat Boy was a smash hit on Xbox 360 when it launched in October. The game currently enjoys an average rating of 90/100 on Metacritic for the Xbox 360 platform and it is one of MyGaming’s top 10 indie game picks of 2010.
There is every indication that Super Meat Boy on the PC will be just as good, and it will also have a few platform exclusive perks, such as unique playable characters from other popular indie titles, including Minecraft, Bit. Trip, VVVVVV and Machinarium.
Super Meat Boy is a difficult yet joyfully addictive platform game in which players must take command of an animated cube of meat and use all his meaty properties to navigate perilous levels and rescue his girlfriend from an evil tuxedo wearing fetus in a jar.
The game features over 300 levels spanning five chapters, complete with crazy boss fights.
Super Meat Boy is currently on pre-order special on Steam for US$9.99 (R71), a saving of 33% on the standard price of US$15. The game will be unlocked on 30 November Steam time, in approximately 24 hours from the publication of this article. The Steam edition includes and exclusive playable character – the Head Crab.
The game will be updated with a full level editor in January 2011, lending another layer of longevity and value to the title. Check out the meat below.
