Nvidia has announced that it will be installing its Drive PX 2 AI supercomputer into automated racing cars.
The company will implement its AI driving technology in automated racing cars which will compete in the Roborace Championship – the first international autonomous motorsports competition in the world.
The competition will consist of identical robotic cars which will each be equipped with Nvidia’s Drive PX 2 technology, meaning that the deciding factor between the cars will be the efficiency of their software.
The Drive PX 2 delivers as much processing power as 150 Macbook Pros and allows the automated race cars to improve their driving skills as they drive, thanks to its deep-learning capabilities.
The Drive PX 2 is relatively small, meaning that it can fit into the compact structure of the automated cars – which were designed by the same man who designed Tron: Legacy‘s light cycles.
