A Dark Souls board game is currently in production, with a Kickstarter for the project launching some time in April.
Very little is known about the project at this point other than the news that Bandai Namco had officially licensed the game to Steamforged games.
In an official statement on their website, Steamforged games had the following to say:
Steamforged Games is proud to announce we will be working with Bandai Namco Entertainment, developing an exciting board game for the Dark Souls universe.
As Dark Souls fans, we could not be more excited to be given the honour of developing a board game that embraces everything that makes Dark Souls the deep, compelling game experience that it is.
The Dark Souls board game will be launched on Kickstarter during April 2016.
We cannot even begin to imagine what type of game this could turn out to be, or the mechanics that would be required to give a “true Dark Souls experience”.
Steamforged games have previously worked on one another game – the successfully Kickstarted Guild Ball which combined elements of football (soccer) and medieval warfare .
Dark Souls 3 is set to release tomorrow 12 April on Xbox One and Playstation 4.
