A South African game development studio called Robot Wizard is working on a point-and-click adventure game named Jengo.

Robot Wizard currently consists of two developers, Louis Du Pisani and Graeme Selvan, who are actively working on Jengo and have a great deal of respect for the classic point-and-click adventure genre.

“When Graeme and I discussed making a game back in 2009 we instantly agreed on making an adventure game purely for the love of the genre,” said Louis in an interview with Lazygamer.

The game features a quirky art style reminiscent of the genre’s classics, along with a unique story which sees the playable character, Jeff, exploring a “world full of forgotten game creations.”

“While our game has that old school look, it certainly won’t play like one. We have spent a lot of time working on our UI and our animation system,” said Robot Wizard.

Because of the small size of the team and time constraints, Robot Wizard will release Jengo episodically – a format which has been used by similar games in the genre, including The Walking Dead or The Wolf Among Us.
