Gran Turismo 5 to get more premium cars

15 December 2010

One of the biggest criticisms levelled at Gran Turismo 5 is the fact that only the premium cars are rendered with significant attention to detail. The regular cars, which constituted the vast majority of the 1000+ vehicles, looked as if they had been pulled from the PS2’s Gran Turismo 4.

Not only do the non-premium cars look rubbish, but they lack a cockpit view.

The game’s lead designer Kazunori Yamauchi has told Japanese gaming magazine, Famitsu, that there are plans to increase the number of premium cars. He did not specify how many, or when the new cars would be added to the game, but it does give GT5 owners – with internet – something to look forward to.
