The video game industry went into a weird sort of hibernation towards the closing months of 2010, with the only games worth getting remotely excited about in December being World of Warcraft: Catalysm, and Battlefield: Bad Company 2 Vietnam – both of which are not even full games, but expansions.
But the old ‘calm before the storm’ adage rings true if we look forward a few months, because 2011 looks set to be chock full of massive releases. The early months are looking particularly ridiculous, and gamers with limited time and money will have to be very discerning when deciding which games to play and which to skip.
