There’s a new Soulcalibur in development

27 December 2010

Namco has confirmed – by the apparently now traditional industry medium of Twitter – that there’s a new Soulcalibur game in development.

The announcement came first by way of Soulcalibur IV designer Daishi Odashima, who opened a Twitter account on Christmas Day to say simply that, “”SC is BACK! Get ready, fans!”, attaching an image of himself at his desk with a drawing of a sword to prove it or something.

Later, Namco producer Katsuhiro Harada followed up with a “Soul Calibur is back!!”. Double exclamation points!! It must be true.

It’s obviously not entirely certain whether this is a sequel to 2008’s Soulcalibur IV, although it seems somewhat likely given the timing. The last series title was the PSP exclusive, Broken Destiny, in 2009.
