Tom Clancy’s The Division is being made into a movie starring Jake Gyllenhaal

A movie based on The Division is currently in the works and will star Jake Gyllenhaal in the lead role, Variety reports.

Gyllenhaal will also be producing the film, although not many details are currently known, as the project is still in its infancy.

The studio is still seeking a writer, and Ubisoft has not yet commented on the big-screen adaption of its popular multiplayer game.

Tom Clancy’s The Division reached $330 million dollars in sales figures less than a week after it was released.

This will be the second big-budget film based on a Ubisoft game, with Michael Fassbender starring in an Assassin’s Creed movie this year.

Hopefully, this recent spate of game-based movies will succeed where the Warcraft movie failed, and break the tradition of video game film adaptions receiving low review scores.
