New iPhone might ditch headphone jack

6 June 2016

A leaked advertisement by Chinese company Tama Electric points to Apple ditching its 3.5-millimeter headphone jack.

The advertisement features a series of Lightning-to-headphone adapters with separate volume controls.

At this stage, it looks like Tama Electric is simply hoping to jump into the market early rather than having any insider information, but rumours continue to circulate that Apple will be ditching the proprietary input.

Apple is expected to release its next-generation iPhone sometime in September this year.
