PlayStation 4 and Xbox One gamers may soon be able to play Overwatch against one another.

This was confirmed in a Tweet by the official Overwatch account, which stated that Blizzard would be “keeping an eye on cross-platform possibilities on the consoles”.

It is unlikely that PC gamers will be able to play against those on console however, as the mouse-and-keyboard combination would confer too much of an advantage and cause balance issues.

Overwatch wouldn’t be the first console game to allow for cross-platform play, with Rocket League recently releasing a patch that now allows PC gamers to play against those gaming on the PS4 and Xbox One.
