Legendary designer Shigeru Miyamoto has revealed why the Japanese gaming company was so secretive about its upcoming NX console during this year’s E3 in an interview with the Associated Press.

In terms of NX, there’s an idea that we’re working on, that’s why we can’t share anything at this point, and I don’t want to comment on the other companies.

If it was just a matter of following advancements in technology, things would be coming out a lot quicker.

In fairness, Nintendo may have reason to be protective about its upcoming hardware, after both Sony and Microsoft introduced their own motion controllers following the phenomenal success of the Wii Remote.

What secretive technology do you think Nintendo plan on unveiling? Let us know in the comments below and in our forums.
