Introducing the world’s first Kinetic CPU cooler

5 July 2016

CoolChip Technologies has teased its new, low-profile Kinetic CPU cooler for Skylake processors, reports OC3D.

“This new CPU cooler design combines a traditional heatsink and fan into a single unit, where part of the heatsink rotates and provides both direct cooling and airflow for the remainder of the unit.”

This allows for both a smaller form factor and quieter operation when compared to more traditional designs.

Not much is known about the upcoming cooler other than it is designed to be used on Intel LGA 1151 socket on CPUs that have a TDP of lower than 70W.

As this is the “low profile” design, it is also possible that a larger variant may be coming in the future for CPUs with larger TDPs or cooling requirements.
