Cybersmart’s cheap 400Mbps fibre packages are here to stay

9 December 2017
Cybersmart’s 200Mbps fibre connection will cost a meagre R599

Cybersmart launched two promotional 400Mbps capped fibre products on Black Friday, and the demand was so high they have been made standard offerings.

The 400Mbps FTTH LightSpeed products are:

  • 400Mbps, 50GB daytime data and 250GB after-hours data – R399 per month
  • 400Mbps, 100GB daytime data and 500GB after-hours data – R599 per month

Cybersmart CTO Laurie Fialkov told MyBroadband the specials opened their eyes to a market segment they were previously not targeting.

“These products were massively popular on Black Friday, so it really made sense for us to continue with them,” said Fialkov.

Uncapped

Fialkov said they have seen a huge demand for a cheap home uncapped product for streaming, and an affordable uncapped business service for small offices.

To serve these needs, Cybersmart will launch two new uncapped fibre products in January 2018.

  • 20/20 home uncapped fibre – R599 per month
  • 20/20 business uncapped fibre – R899 per month

Cybersmart has also entered a joint venture with Routed.co.za to offer free virtual data centre services with its FTTB products.

“Our FTTB clients will get a virtual data centre with a limited number of resources. Those resources will let you spin up 3 or 4 small servers, or one decent server,” said Fialkov.
