Axxess has launched its static IP address service, offering its customers the option of a static IP with their ADSL account.
A static IP means that your IP address does not change regularly, and therefore you can host your own file server, mail server, or game servers without the need of additional products to compensate for dynamic IPs.
Axxess says that static IP addresses are beneficial to gamers for a number of reasons:
- Setup official game servers;
- Host your own clan, clan page and forum;
- Become a TeamSpeak host with your own Direct comm server;
- Gain an edge and speed over your opponents with local latency to your game server.
Axxess clients can use their existing routers or servers for the service – the only minimum requirement being that the device has the ability to terminate an L2TP tunnel/connection (no IPSec).
Static IPs are also available to Axxess resellers, and are offered free of charge to all business uncapped ADSL account holders.
Axxess subscribers with a capped or uncapped home account can purchase the fixed IP service at R59 per month.
