Telkom’s ongoing ADSL speed upgrades are progressing well, with all 4Mbps subscribers who could be upgraded to 10Mbps now enjoying the higher speed.

Telkom started to upgrade ADSL customers to higher line speeds on Monday 11 November 2013.

Telkom’s 1Mbps, 2Mbps, and 4Mbps ADSL products are increased to 2Mbps, 4Mbps, and 10Mbps respectively.

The upgrade dates are as follows:

  • 4Mbps to 10Mbps – 11 November to 18 November 2013
  • 2Mbps to 4Mbps – 18 November to 23 December 2013
  • 1Mbps to 2Mbps – 15 January 2014 to 28 February 2014

Telkom said that all 4Mbps ADSL users who could be upgraded to 10Mbps have successfully been upgraded to the higher speed.

However, Telkom added that customers whose modems were switched off could not be upgraded.

Telkom added that the 2Mbps to 4Mbps upgrades are progressing as planned. 25% of the 2Mbps subscriber base have already been upgraded.

Telkom said that the period planned for the 1Mbps to 2Mbps upgrades is currently 15 January 2014 to 28 February 2014.

Telkom said that all the upgrades to date have progressed without a hitch, and that they have not received complaints from subscribers about the upgrades.
