The latest MyBroadband speed test results show that MTN’s LTE service provides the highest peak download speed in South Africa.
To ensure it offers a neutral testing environment, MyBroadband hosts its Ookla speed test server at Teraco and NapAfrica’s vendor-neutral hosting facility.
NapAfrica provides all network operators present at its peering points with free 1Gbps connections to the MyBroadband speed test platform.
Average MyBroadband speed test results
Over the last month, 97,406 speed tests were performed on MyBroadband’s speed test platform.
The latest statistics show that the average South African download speed over the last month was 13,532kbps, and the average upload speed was 2,615kbps.
It should be noted that these figures include core network tests, which can significantly increase average speeds.
