MyBroadband’s latest speed test results show that Vodacom, MTN, and Cell C’s LTE services produce the highest peak broadband speeds in the country.

MyBroadband’s speed test service uses Ookla’s platform, and is hosted in Teraco’s vendor-neutral hosting facilities in Johannesburg and Cape Town.

Through NapAfrica all network operators present at its peering points are provided with a free 1Gbps connection to the MyBroadband speed test platform.

To ensure that only valid results are recorded, MyBroadband filters the broadband speed tests based on network information from the service providers.

Over the last month there were 54,349 speed tests performed on the MyBroadband speed test servers.

The average download speed over the last 30 days was 7,225kbps, while the average upload speed was 2,505kbps.
