Most Modern Warfare 2 players will tell you about the hacking problems making Modern Warfare 2 an unpleasant experience. The PS3 version in particular has been subjected to a renewed hacker offensive thanks to the security key leaks that blew the console open at the beginning of the year.
While Sony busily started suing anyone who’s looked at a PS3 funny and worked on security fixes, the Modern Warfare 2 PS3 community worked itself into a fit about the escalating hacking problem.
Infinity Ward now seems ready to launch a patch that will address the hacking problem on the PS3, the news coming via the Infinity Ward forum. “The latest patch for Modern Warfare 2 has finished. This new title update will address security issues that have affected online play,” said Infinity Ward community manager Robert Bowling. “In addition to the security updates, this patch will also address a small geo exploit on the map Fuel, which players exploited in order to get inside a rock on the outskirts of the map,” adds Bowling
The patch will be available tomorrow (8 March 2011) for PS3 gamers. Xbox 360 and PC gamers will be receiving the patch at a date yet to be confirmed.
