Kinect sales hit 10 million

Microsoft announced last night that they’ve sold 10 million Kinects, and 10 million Kinect games. No, I don’t know what those games are, either. Maybe I just don’t want to live in a world when anybody bought Sonic Free Riders.

In its first 60 days from launch, the controller-free controller was shifting around 133,333 units on average every 24 hours in the States.

“The sales figures here speak for themselves,” said gaming editor for Guinness World Records, Gaz Deaves. “According to independent research, no other consumer electronics device sold faster within a 60-day time span, which is an incredible achievement considering the strength of the sector.”

Or, to put it in a real perspective, it sold faster than any iStuff, which is kinda incredible.

Upcoming games for Kinect in 2011 include Avatar Kinect, Body and Brain Connection (Namco), Michael Jackson The Experience (Ubisoft), Child of Eden (Tetsuya Mizuguchi), The Gunstringer (Twisted Pixel), Kung Fu Panda 2 (THQ), Carnival Games: Monkey See, Monkey Do (2K), and Sesame Street: Once Upon a Monster (Double-Fine).
